A little something different to try and then keep in your toolbox. It takes less than 4 minutes.
It is something I have done with clients when it's useful to move into a head space that allows room for clarity and calm. It also helps us to centre ourselves when we feel overwhelmed with everything going on inside our heads on top of all the external demands, and we feel we may be close to breaking.
I made a recording of it for when I am not around. Just a few minutes of being present, and it can be done with anything but my favourite is using a pen. (Perhaps that is more a reflection of my geekiness for stationary but I find I usually have a pen close to hand even when using my laptop and so do my clients).
If you want to try it but do not have a pen just go find a pen (any pen will do- highlighter, marker, whiteboard, etc) before hitting play as I go straight into it.
You won't need to write or DO anything. You don't even need to watch me. Just listen and look at the pen in your hand whether it is on your lap or on the desk in front of you. With the addition of headphones, no-one else will know what you are doing - if they even notice you in these few minutes they might think you are thinking about something, that's all.
Please also know that this is normal. The unsteady/uncertain feeling is part of the human experience and normally indicates a period of transition. Which, when acknowledged, untangled, and followed through, can be the start of your upgrade - Version 2.0.
